Apple will not release its AR / VR headset at WWDC 2022

Apple's annual WWDC 2022 event is just around the corner and in addition to the obvious software updates, rumors have suggested that the company will at least tease out its much-anticipated AR / VR headset at the event. We've even seen trademark filing, which may point to "RealityOS" as the operating system for the headset. However, if we believe Kuo, Apple will not release its headset at WWDC this year. The reason is here.

WWDC 2022 has no Apple AR / VR headset!

Ahead of next week's WWDC event, Kuo recently reported on Twitter that Apple's highly-anticipated AR / VR headset will take time to begin mass production. Therefore, analysts do not believe that the Cupertino giant "will release AR / MR headsets and rumored RealityOS at WWDC this year."

Arguably, Kuo said it would be too soon for Apple to release AR / MR headsets and RealityOS at its upcoming developer conference.

In addition, in a second tweet, Apple analysts highlight that if Apple unveils its AR / MR headset next week, it will allow third-party manufacturers to copy headset designs and Apple to release copy-cat products before releasing its headsets. Therefore, before finalizing the product delayed and ready for launch, make a good decision.

He added that Apple will release AR / MR headsets sometime in 2023. This is consistent with Bloomberg's previous report which indicated a delay until next year.

Now, it’s worth noting that while Apple is less likely to give us a jolt about the mixed reality headset during its upcoming event, the company may spread relevant information about its plans regarding headsets and realityOS during the event. . It can talk about compatible apps and even iOS 16 may come with suitable AR / VR features. So, stay tuned to Apple’s WWDC 2022, which starts on June 6th, and keep an eye on our platform for more updates.
